Despite losing most of its leads over the years, including the character that gives the show's name, the medical drama remains one of the longest series in television history and wants to go for much more. Last year, fans of the series created by Shonda Rhimes received the shocking news that Ellen Pompeo, the star of the show, would say goodbye in season 19. In fact, the actress had brief appearances during the season. However, as reported by Deadline, she could still appear sporadically in the new episodes. Along with the renewal announcement, ABC gave other important information.
