Captain America: Brave New World Wraps Filming

At a time when many planned productions are getting postponed due to the ongoing writers strike, the fourth Captain America movie has just wrapped filming. The news was announced by Kramer Morgenthau, who serves as cinematographer on Captain America: Brave New World. Taking to Instagram, Morgenthau shared an image of the slate used for the project bearing the movie's logo along with his name and that of director Julius Onah. The cinematographer also noted how the project had wrapped filming by simply writing the word, "Wrap."

This will be the fourth Captain America movie, but it's the first that won't be following Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. The Captain America title has been passed on to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), as seen in the Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. After that show concluded in 2021, it was announced that Mackie would be leading a Captain America film. Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, who'd worked on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, penned the screenplay for Captain America: Brave New World. Onah was announced as director in 2022.

Initially, the movie was announced with the title of Captain America: New World Order. Along with the natural comparisons to the pro wrestling faction of the 1990s, the name was considered controversial in some ways due to how it's been used in politics and conspiracy theories. Possibly for these reasons, the title of the film was later changed to Captain America: Brave New World during production.
